01. BACKGROUND
Why choose NFT as the project theme?
In 2022, during my UI/UX internship at Illa Soft, we seized the opportunity to explore the emerging NFT trend. The stakeholder, with a tech background, recognized the market potential, leading us to design an application around NFTs
But what is NFT and Web 3.0?
Web 3.0 and NFT are absolute new concepts for me at that time. So I did a lot of desktop research about them. During the process of learning, I get to know that Web3 is an idea for a new iteration of the World Wide Web which incorporates concepts such as decentralization, blockchain technologies, and token-based economics. A non-fungible token (NFT) is a financial security consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain, a form of distributed ledger. They include music,art.......
02. Design Assumptions
The idea of NFT interestd me a lot, because all the data is stored in a blockchain. Every NFT is unique and has its own address. As a result, the art, music, even video can be made into NFTs and has financial value. When I was using the popular applications for NFTs on the market such as opensea, foundation, and metamask. I found out that they are mainly for trading NFTs. Also, NFT owners are now mainly using Twitter and discord to communicate . We’ve noticed that there is no special application for NFT owners to display and socialize.
- Design Opportunities -
- Potencial Solutions -
We assumed there might be a design opportunity for us to design a special platform that mainly focuses on the 4 aspects listed. As a result, we decided to research to figure out what kind of specialized application do NFT owners need.
03. Research
Why should we do research?
Personally, I feel that there is a gap in the market, but I am not sure that what users want is the same as what I think, so I need to do interviews to validate the design opportunity.
Assumption
= What users want?
- Interviews -
To validate the design opportunity, we interviewed 10 NFT owners who had experience trading NFTs, we interviewed them with 5 basic questions and follow-up questions based on their responses. Each interview lasted from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
1. Can you share the type of wallet you currently use and the reasons behind your choice?
2. How do you envision the experience of using an app to display your NFTs and connect with other owners?
3. When managing your NFTs, what's your needs? Additionally, is there anything you value a lot for displaying NFT?
4. In what ways do you think an app could assist you, (whether it's in selling your NFTs, establishing a presence in Web3.0, or enhancing your social connections in the digital space?)
5. Please describle an recent experience of using
NFT related applications.

Research Findings
After interviewing all our interviewers, we collected
all the information. And did a summary of the results
we got.

Base on the research, we decided to make the product structure 4 parts: Feed, Search, Community, Profile
04.
UI DESIGN
I am mainly in charge of the social, and profile part design. Based on the information architecture, I drew sketches of feed, search, and profile pages to see the overall picture. In my sketches, I've noticed that the tab bar of the ranking list in the search page takes too much effort for users to see all hot topics, most wanted NFTs and popular users. As a consequence, I decided to make it 2 lines and move the hot topic up to replace the place of advertisements. So that the most important part-hot topics can be seen at first sight. And the display area is very unattractive because it only leaves a small place to display NFT. So, I decided to redesign the display part.

STORIES
OVERVIEW
After finishing the wireframe and sketch of this product. We realized there are changes need to be made. Based on the information architecture we got from research, the navigation bar was successfully designed. For each part, there is a user process for it. To better illustrate the process, we displayed 4 stories and elaborate on the function of some important features.
NFT DISPLAY
SEE POSTS OF HEATED TOPICS & FOLLOW NFT OWNERS
DISPLAY YOUR NFT TO MAKE OTHER USERS SEE
The user can choose to display new NFTs or post thoughts whenever she/he want.
The user can choose a NFT from wallet and add its’ address to upload on 2D MOON
Write on the detailed information of this NFT to let other users know more about it.
The new NFT is uploaded successfully, and it is shown on the profile of the user.
FIND A COMMUNITY THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN

CONCLUSION
CONCLUSION
Since Web3.0 and NFT is something that I'm not familiar with, those design decisions are made after doing a solid and comprehensive research. During the process of designing, I interviewed 10 NFT owners and got some unexpected but extremely useful answers. For example, I first assume that most of the NFT users own NFT for interests. However the interview shows that 7 out of 10 NFT owners join in this area mainly for financial purpose and investment. As a result, I made the showing properties of NFTs a essential part in display feature. From this experience, I got to know that desicions should be made based on research and facts instead of own assumptions. And this is especially important in the topic I'm
not familiar with.
